Acts confirmed for Flashback Festival weekend
Flashback Festival
The Human League headline the Sunday show at this year's Flashback Festival.
Retro glitz and glamour is back at the Thoresby Estate this summer with the return of the Flashback Festival. It takes place on August 18-20 featuring a host of stars from the 1970s and 1980s.

The festival is now in its eighth year — and this is the second at Thoresby.

It launches on the Friday with former Radio 1 DJ Trevor Nelson’s Old Skool Classics, an exclusive event for weekend ticket holders only.

The headline act on the Saturday night is Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) who shot to fame in the early 1980s and enjoyed hits such as Enola Gay, Souvenir, Walking On the Milky Way and Sailing On The Seven Seas.

Kim Wilde, whose hits include Kids In America, You Keep Me Hangin’ On and You Came, and Heaven 17, whose biggest hit was Temptation, are on the Saturday bill along with Go West and T’Pau, who will be performing China In Your Hand, among others.

Also on Saturday’s bill are Jamaican reggae act Junior Marvin’s Wailers.

The following night is headlined by Sheffield chart-toppers The Human League, who will perform hits from their long career, including Mirror Man, Together In Electric Dreams, Open Your Heart and Don’t You Want Me.

The night will kick-off with Doctor And The Medics performing their chart-topping Spirit In The Sky.

They are followed by Altered Images, whose biggest hit was Happy Birthday, and 1980s heart-throb Nik Kershaw, who will be performing hits such as Wouldn’t It Be Good, The Riddle and I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.

They are joined by former M People singer Heather Small, whose biggest solo hit to date is Proud, and legendary 1970s group Village People, who will have the crowd dancing and singing along to YMCA, In The Navy and Macho Man.

As well as the live music, there is a silent disco from 11pm to 2am, and there will be a vintage fun-fair throughout the weekend for all ages.

Camping packages are available for the weekend and there is a luxury hotel package at Thoresby Hall for adults only.

Tickets for the weekend are on sale now.
