Electronic pop act back with fresh songs
Fans of electronic pop and rock music are in for a treat when 90s band Republica roll into Nottingham as part of a new UK tour.

The group behind the hit, Ready To Go, which soared to number one in 18 countries, are back following an international tour and geared up to perform their new tunes on home territory, including a slot at the Isle of Wight Festival.

Iconic singer Samantha Sprackling, known as Saffron, said: “We’ve been enjoying our time abroad for the last couple of years touring places like Dubai, Bahrain, and Romania, but now we’re really looking forward to performing in Nottingham.

“We went down to a house near Looe, Cornwall, and just wrote music and practised together and now we’ve got some cracking songs for our new tour.

“After touring for years and having side projects and collaborations it felt really fresh working and recording together again.”

The Nigerian-born singer, who has a melting-pot background with Portuguese, Chinese, and British descent, said the group had some hardcore fans in Nottingham. The band will perform their new EP, Christiana Obey.

Saffron said: “We’ll be doing all the hits and the favourites as well as our new great tracks which we’re really excited to perform.

“We can promise an energetic show with big anthemic choruses and we will go back to one or two of our really big hits from the 90s as well.”

Republica will perform at the Bodega Social Club, Nottingham, a week today.
