- Barbara June Good - Printed 21st Sep 2017
Barbara June Good, aged 83 died peacefully at the Springwater Lodge Care Home, Calverton, on Sunday 10th September 2017. Beloved wife to Peter and mother to Sarah, Jenny and Susan. Jenny and Susan attended her cremation on their own on Wednesday September 20. Her family and friends will remember Barbara for her many interests during an extremely active life, always fit and healthy whilst bringing her three daughters. Her early love of fun filled amateur dramatics then became a passion for singing with Southwell Choral Society once the family moved to Thurgaton. She could always be heard singing at home whilst cooking, dressmaking and gardening and during her other creative hobbies too many to list. With a new house and plot of land Barbara and Peter set about landscaping. Their beautiful garden on Priory park is a testament to the effort and love with which they planted and gardened together, now the sanctuary of their home. Barbara enjoyed all that village life had to offer in a thriving community especially the W.I. which took up many enjoyable hours during her spare time. Peter invites all family and friends to a colourful celebration of Barbara's life at Thurgaton Village Hall on Friday, October 6, 13-3pm. Please do come and join us all for a buffet lunch accompanied by music and words. No black please, just colour. All our love to Barbara from Peter, Jenny, Sarah and Susan, all her grandchildren, close family and her friends. Barbara's final resting place will be Treyarnon Bay, Cornwall, her favourite place in the world, where we all shared happy holiday times throughout her life. May Barbara now rest in peace. Donations can be made payable to Alzheimers, NSPCC, Reach to Peter Good.
