Barbara June Good, aged 83 died peacefully at the Springwater Lodge Care Home, Calverton, on Sunday 10th September 2017. Beloved wife to Peter and mother to Sarah, Jenny and Susan. Jenny and Susan attended her cremation on their own on Wednesday September 20. Her family and friends will remember Barbara for her many interests during an extremely active life, always fit and healthy whilst bringing her three daughters. Her early love of fun filled amateur dramatics then became a passion for singing with Southwell Choral Society once the family moved to Thurgaton. She could always be heard singing at home whilst cooking, dressmaking and gardening and during her other creative hobbies too many to list. With a new house and plot of land Barbara and Peter set about landscaping. Their beautiful garden on Priory park is a testament to the effort and love with which they planted and gardened together, now the sanctuary of their home. Barbara enjoyed all that village life had to offer in a thriving community especially the W.I. which took up many enjoyable hours during her spare time. Peter invites all family and friends to a colourful celebration of Barbara's life at Thurgaton Village Hall on Friday, October 6, 13-3pm. Please do come and join us all for a buffet lunch accompanied by music and words. No black please, just colour. All our love to Barbara from Peter, Jenny, Sarah and Susan, all her grandchildren, close family and her friends. Barbara's final resting place will be Treyarnon Bay, Cornwall, her favourite place in the world, where we all shared happy holiday times throughout her life. May Barbara now rest in peace. Donations can be made payable to Alzheimers, NSPCC, Reach to Peter Good.

MAYFIELD On April 13, 2014, Barbara. Taken so suddenly, my special sister-in-law, Barbara, and you truly were special to me. I still can't believe you have gone. It really is Heaven's gain to have such a beautiful, loving person as you. Dear Lord, wrap your arms around her and give her a kiss from me. Tell her I love and miss her. I've got some happy memories Barbara, I cherish for the rest of my life. Please take good care of our Barbara Lord, and I'll take care of our Ronnie and family down here. Service at Newcastle West Road Crematorium, on Monday, January 15, at 2.45pm, followed by refreshments at The Golden Lion, Allendale from 4pm. Jack was a former employee of the Newark Advertiser, then ran The White House Press in Collingham. Donations to The Henry Doubleday Research Association (gardening very welcome.

DAKIN On August 13, 2011, in Highfields Nursing Home, Edingley, Jeffrey William (Bill), aged 85. Former journalist and then press and public relations officer with EMEB, Nottingham. Married Mary in 1957, father of five boys. Funeral at Southwell Minster, on Friday, August 19, at 10.30am and afterwards at Wellow Crematorium at 1pm. Jones Barbara Josephine. David, Roslin and families would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at The Troc care home in Newark for the unfailing care and kindness shown to Barbara during her four years as a resident, and in particular during the last few weeks of her life. She was able to die peacefully, in familiar surroundings, with her family by her side, thanks to your support. We would also like to thank you all for the thoughtfulness shown to us, Barbara's family, as she neared the end. You will never know how much it has been appreciated.

FOSTER On June 22, 2015, Barbara (Porter), is now at peace. Widow of Harry Foster. Barbara lived her whole life in the Newark area and was a long standing resident of Lime Grove. Her grandfather established G H Porter, the provision shop which still exists today in Newark's market square. She worked for many years at the British Sugar Corporation, before marrying Harry Foster, whose family company built many houses in Newark and the surrounding area. Barbara was passionate about helping others and was heavily involved with local charities including Dr Barnado's. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The funeral will take place at St Mary Magdalene Parish Church, on July 16, 2015, at 10am. Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers if so desired made payable to Dr Barnado's are being received by Lincolnshire Cooperative Funeral Services, Beacon Hill Road, Newark, NG24 1NT. Onn On March 18, 2015, Barbara Mary, passed away peacefully aged 82 years. Beloved daughter of the late Hubert Baden Onn and the late Gladys May Onn of Newark, sister to David Onn and sister-in-law to Dorothy, of West Grove, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Reception into the church will be on Wednesday 22, April at 7.30pm. Funeral service at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Boundary Road, Newark, on Thursday April, 23, 2015, at 9.30am, followed by committal in London Road Cemetery. Barbara taught for 37 years at St. Margaret of Scotland Junior School in Luton, Bedfordshire, before retiring to Newark where she held offices with the Bridge Women's Institute. Family flowers only. Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the Children's Bereavement Centre in Newark.
